I received a car as a gift from Qutb Ainawi after the victory over Al-Wahda in 2003

The former Al Ain club and national team star, Subit Khater, revealed an exciting incident that is considered one of the most prominent moments in his football career, when he led Al-Zaeem to win the Super Cup for the 2002-2003 season, after defeating Al-Wahda Club with a score of (3-1), in the match that was held at Sharjah Stadium, during which he left a decisive mark by scoring two goals.

Khater revealed the details of that evening, when he received a special promise before the match to receive a special reward in the event of victory, represented by a car of the same year, the BMW-X5, which gave him additional motivation on the field, in addition to his basic desire to make the club’s fans happy.

Subit Khater told Emirates Today, on the occasion of the El Clasico match between Al Ain and Al Wahda, which took place yesterday, that the match he played in 2003 was not ordinary, but rather carried great psychological and moral dimensions, in light of the nature of the traditional confrontations between Al Ain and Al Wahda, which are often preceded by a competitive atmosphere that contributes to making a difference during the match.

He added that he received a call several days before the match from one of the leaders of Al Ain Club (without naming him), during which he promised him a gift of a BMW

Khater pointed out that after the end of the match, he began to understand the details of the promise, and he went to the car dealership and took the initiative to contact Al-Qotb Al-Aynaoui as he had promised him, and Sbeit was surprised that Al-Qotb Al-Aynaoui replied to him that the car was there and had been delivered to his house and that it was white, along with another gift, which was a mobile phone. He considered that this gesture made the occasion more special, and remained ingrained in his memory until today.

He explained that these moments were not limited to being material rewards, but rather reflected a great moral appreciation that embodies the close relationship between the players and the club’s fans, a relationship that contributed to renewing the players’ motivation to achieve championships, especially during that period that witnessed Al Ain crowning its first continental titles.

Khater touched on his career with Al Ain, which extended for about two decades from when he joined at a young age until 2007, stressing that the club represented a real starting point for him in the world of football, as he began his career with the first team at the age of 17, in an experience he describes as full of achievements and memories that he is keen to share with the fans and the media out of pride.
