Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, honorary president of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club

The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club announced in a statement today, Sunday, the appointment of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, as honorary president of the club, in appreciation of his distinguished efforts and effective contributions to supporting and developing marine sports in the country.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan welcomed this confidence, expressing his pride in the honorary presidency of the first nautical club in the Emirates, and one of the most prestigious clubs in the Gulf region, since its founding in 1962, and it is also listed among the top 100 clubs in the world.
He stressed that this responsibility represents an honor and an assignment at the same time, and requires continuing work to maintain the club’s prestigious position and enhance its presence among the major international clubs in marine sports and activities.
For his part, Secretary General of the UAE Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, Mohammed Al Obaidli, congratulated Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan on this occasion, and said: “His selection reflects the concrete efforts he has made to advance the country’s clubs, through qualitative programs and strategies adopted by the Federation, which have contributed to achieving notable achievements, most notably the accreditation of a number of Emirati clubs during the past period as international training centers for modern sailing by the International Federation, including the Abu Dhabi Club.”
