A strange scene: a refereeing error forces Neymar to leave the field

Neymar went out of his way and was forced to leave the field after an error by the fourth official in charge of announcing the substitutions during his team Santos’ heavy loss to its guest Coritiba 3-0 on Sunday in the sixteenth round of the Brazilian Football League, on the eve of announcing the Seleção’s roster for the World Cup finals.
The veteran striker (34 years old) participated as a starter, before leaving in the 65th minute when the result was decided in favor of the visiting team, leaving the Sao Paulo club on the brink of relegation.
Santos coach Coca decided to introduce Robinho Junior instead of number 31 Gonzalo Escobar, and at that moment, Neymar was outside the field receiving treatment, so the fourth referee raised the board announcing the departure of number 10 Neymar instead of number 31 Escobar.
Neymar and his teammates protested, sometimes sharply, against the decision to the referees, displaying in front of television cameras a handwritten note showing that the coach had asked for Escobar to leave.
But Robinho Junior had already entered the field, and it was no longer possible to cancel the substitution.
