Bahrain appreciates the success of the UAE’s mediation in releasing 320 Russian and Ukrainian prisoners
Manama, June 27 / WAM / The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the success of the mediation efforts undertaken by the United Arab Emirates between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine, which resulted in the completion of a new prisoner exchange process that included 320 prisoners from both sides, considering this a positive and constructive humanitarian step that contributes to supporting de-escalation efforts and enhancing the chances of reaching a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis.
In a statement broadcast by the Bahraini News Agency, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s appreciation for the diplomatic and humanitarian efforts made by the United Arab Emirates, and its contributions to the release of 7,791 prisoners since the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis through 25 mediation processes, reiterating the Kingdom’s support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at ending the war through dialogue and peaceful means, and mitigating its humanitarian repercussions, in a way that contributes to enhancing security, stability and sustainable peace at the regional levels.
