Egypt and Iran.. Hossam Hassan reveals the reason for Mohamed Salah’s early exit

Egypt coach Hossam Hassan said that Mohamed Salah’s condition will be evaluated after the team captain asked to change him during the match against Iran, which ended in a 1-1 draw in the FIFA World Cup on Saturday, which raised doubts about his physical fitness before the start of the knockout stage.
Salah appeared very frustrated when he was substituted 12 minutes after the start of the second half. Hassan said that it was too early to determine the severity of the injury, although it did not appear serious.

Hassan said in statements to the BeIN Sports network, “He is asking for change. As long as he asks for change, he still feels a certain need, but we will make sure.”

Hassan added that left-back Ahmed Fattouh will also undergo a medical examination after suffering an injury. He also expressed his hope that midfielder Hamdi Fathi would recover in time for Egypt’s Round of 32 match against Australia after he missed the match against Iran.

Despite concerns about fitness, Hassan expressed his confidence in the depth of his squad after Egypt secured second place in Group G with five points behind leaders Belgium on goal difference.
He said, “I have monsters, and I have Egyptian players who are as good as they think.”

Hassan praised Egypt’s qualification to the knockout stage as a proud achievement for the country, the Arab world and Africa, saying that his team will now focus on preparing for the next round.
