Al-Ahly of Egypt raises its offer to include Jordanian Ali Alwan… and this is the Qatari position of Al-Sailiya

The Egyptian Al-Ahly Club raised the value of its financial offer to one million dollars to sign the Jordanian striker Ali Alwan, after the Qatari Al-Sailiya Club rejected the first offer, amounting to 600 thousand dollars, as the Qatari club is still insisting on obtaining the value of the release clause in the player’s contract, amounting to 1.5 million dollars.

A source told “Emirates Al-Youm” that Al-Ahly intensified its movements during the past hours to resolve the deal, after placing the Jordanian international as its top priority to strengthen the attacking line, following the distinguished levels he presented in the 2026 World Cup, which attracted the attention of a number of clubs inside and outside the region.

The source added that the recommendation to contract with Alwan came from Al-Ahly’s technical director, the Moroccan Hussein Amouta, who knows the player’s potential well, after supervising his training during his leadership of the Jordanian national team, and believes in his ability to provide the required addition to the red attack in the next season.

Al-Ahly began its official communications by sending a first offer of $600,000 to Al Sailiya, with whom the player has a contract, an amount that is about $50,000 more than the value the Qatari club paid to obtain the player’s services from the Iraqi Al Karama Club.

But the Al-Sailiya management categorically rejected the offer, and informed the Egyptian club of its unwillingness to negotiate for less than the value of the release clause, amounting to one and a half million dollars, which prompted Al-Ahly to improve its offer and raise it to one million dollars, in the hope of bringing points of view closer together and reaching an agreement before the start of the new season.

According to the source, negotiations are still ongoing, at a time when Amouta has entered the line of communications, benefiting from the relationship he has had with the player since the period of his supervision of the Jordanian national team, as he seeks to persuade Alwan and his agent to pressure the Al Sailiya administration to approve the Egyptian offer, or to reach a formula of understanding that allows the completion of the deal.

Al-Ahly’s interest in the Jordanian striker comes as part of its quest to strengthen the attacking line with a player with international experience, after the levels presented by Ali Alwan in the 2026 World Cup, which strengthened his position as one of the most prominent elements of the Jordanian national team during the tournament.

This was not the first time that Al-Ahly headed to the Jordanian market in search of an international striker, as it had previously come close to contracting with Yazan Al-Naimat after his brilliance in the Arab Cup, before negotiations stopped due to the severe injury he suffered, represented by a rupture of the cruciate ligament.
