FIFA reveals the identity of the 50 millionth fan in the history of the World Cup

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) revealed the identity of the 50 millionth fan in the history of the World Cup Finals, since the tournament began in 1930, after the match between Spain and Portugal, which was held yesterday in the round of 16, witnessed the attendance of 70,649 spectators.

FIFA said on its website: “A historic achievement has been achieved for fans, as the 50 millionth fan attending a World Cup match entered the gates of Dallas Stadium.” He added that the fan is Emi Khan, from Fort Worth, Texas, and whose family origins are from Pakistan, where he received a giant commemorative ticket from Spanish football legends Carles Puyol and Portuguese Pepe, to celebrate this occasion.

FIFA indicated that the total crowd attendance in the history of World Cup matches amounted to 50 million 20 thousand and 653 spectators at the end of the Spain-Portugal match, while the total attendance in the 2026 World Cup alone rose to six million 71 thousand and 923 spectators, with 11 matches remaining until the curtain comes down on the tournament.

Khan said, in statements highlighted by the FIFA website: “Football is the beautiful game that brings everyone together. “We are here to celebrate the World Cup and the beauty of this sport, to encourage the teams, and to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere experienced by the United States, Canada and Mexico.”

He added: “It is an indescribable feeling to be the 50 millionth fan in the history of the World Cup. “I have attended nine matches so far, and everything I saw was exceptional, from the organization and hospitality to the atmosphere inside the stadiums.”

He explained that he encouraged the Spanish national team in its confrontation with Portugal, while American midfielder Weston McKennie is his favorite star in the current tournament, noting that the moment that impressed him most was the crowd atmosphere accompanying the confrontation between Mexico and England at Azteca Stadium.
