$136 billion in China’s postal sector revenues in the first half

BEIJING, 18 JULY / WAM / Revenues from the postal sector in China in the first half of this year increased by 6 percent year-on-year to 925.6 billion yuan (about 136.25 billion US dollars).
According to data from the National Postal Authority reported by the Xinhua News Agency, the revenues of the express delivery sector amounted to 771.41 billion yuan during this period, an increase of 7.3 percent year on year.
The postal sector handled 108.89 billion parcels between January and June, an increase of 4.2 percent year on year, as the volume of express delivery reached 100.38 billion parcels, recording a growth of 5 percent compared to the previous year. At the sector level, the volume of express delivery services within cities reached 7.22 billion shipments, a decrease of 8.4 percent year on year, while express delivery between cities reached 91.01 billion shipments, an increase of 6.1 percent.
