Ayman Ashour: Cooperation between health and higher education reflects the state’s commitment to developing the health system

Ashour added: The interest of the two ministries in the file of rare diseases stems from their belief in the importance of developing the health system in Egypt and their interest in the health of the citizen, explaining that this interest is in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the state’s vision for achieving sustainable development 2030, stressing the role of universities and higher education institutions in effectively contributing to the development process.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the arrival of the drug shipment represents a decisive step in treating cystic fibrosis in the country. Egypt received 2,800 packages of the drug Trikafta, which is the newest treatment for this disease, which reflects Egypt’s commitment to providing the best means of health care to its citizens within the framework of a comprehensive national vision aimed at eliminating rare diseases.
