المملكة: Kingdom’s weather: moderate to heavy rain and hail showers continue
In its weather report today, Monday, across the Kingdom’s regions, the National Center of Meteorology expects continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms, leading to torrential rains, accompanied by hail showers and active winds stirring up dust and dirt over parts of the northern border regions, Al-Jawf, Hail, and Medina.
It extends to parts of Al-Qassim, Al-Sharqiyah, Riyadh, Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Baha regions.
Rain will be light to moderate in parts of the Tabuk region, with a chance for fog to form in parts of those areas.
While light snow is not ruled out on the northern outskirts of the Kingdom.
Red Sea
Surface winds: north to northwesterly in the northern part, and northwesterly to southwesterly in the central part.
Southeasterly to southwesterly in the southern part, at a speed of 20-50 km/h, reaching more than 60 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderstorm clouds.
Wave height: from one to two metres, reaching above two and a half metres, with the formation of rainy thunderclouds, also over the southern part.
Sea state: moderate to wavy waves.
Arabian Gulf
Surface winds: southeasterly to southerly at a speed of 15-35 km/h.
Wave height: from half a meter to one and a half metres.
Sea condition: light to medium waves.
Meteorological safety guidelines
The National Center of Meteorology advised avoiding areas prone to floods in the event of rain.
This came in the advice given by the National Center of Meteorology through its account on the X application, for safety during rainfall and the occurrence of torrents, floods, and lightning.
The Meteorology Department wrote: Given the fluctuations witnessed in some regions of the Kingdom:
– Avoid areas exposed to floods in the event of rain.
– When lightning strikes, stay away from exposed areas and do not use mobile devices.
-Stay home for your safety, and monitor the weather conditions.
