Why did the referee stop the national team match against Iran after 10 minutes?

South Korean referee Hyung Jin Co stopped the national team match and his Iranian counterpart in the seventh round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers currently held at Azadi Stadium in Tehran, after only 10 minutes have passed since its beginning.

The match stopped in the tenth minute after one of the lighting towers left the service, and the referee and the players of the two teams waited for a quarter of an hour on the field, pending the conduct of maintenance operations for the broken tower.

After a quarter of an hour, the Korean rule directed the players of both parties to return to the dressing rooms until the holiday repair process is completed.

The result indicated a negative tie between the two parties the moment the match was suspended.

It is noteworthy that the Iranian capital, Tehran, is currently witnessing continuous rains.
