Brazilian Alison returns to Liverpool after a head injury

Liverpool, the English Premier League competitor, said Friday that Brazilian goalkeeper Alison Baker, who was forced to leave the stadium after hitting the head during a 2-1 victory over Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers late Thursday evening, left his country and will return to his club.
Alison and Colombia defender Davinson Sanchez fell to the ground after their heads collided during the second half, and the medical staff rushed to the field to treat them before replacing them.
Media reports stated that Alison, 32, left the stadium as a precaution after feeling dizzy after the injury.
“Alison will return to Mercys and will be evaluated by the medical staff in Liverpool,” Liverpool said in a statement.
Brazil is second in the ranking of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, and the first six teams in the qualifiers will qualify directly to the finals held in North America next year.
Liverpool, which leads the Premier League standings 12 points for its closest followers, hosts its local rival Everton on the second of next April.
