Abu Dhabi hosts the World Swimming World Cup for the first time

The Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club hosts the World Cup swimming competitions for the first time in the emirate from October 30 to November 3 at the club’s Olympic Survey headquarters in Mohammed bin Zayed City under the supervision of the International Underwater Activities Federation, and with the participation of a group of the most prominent international swimmers and representatives of national teams from different continents, within the annual agenda of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Emirates Federation For swimming.
This version is the closing station of this year’s World Cup championship series, after organizing previous rounds in major cities such as Belgrade, Budapest, and Barcelona.
The club’s chairman Hamid Al -Huti stressed the importance of hosting the World Cup swimming championship for the first time in the UAE, which comes within the framework of the club’s strategy to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a global sporting destination, and the spectrum of swimming in the state in the country and enabling local athletes to contact the highest levels of global competition, which contributes to developing their skills and raising their readiness for international competitions.
Swimming is a water sport based on the use of fins to achieve greater speed and efficiency in performance, and is divided into three main patterns, which are surface swimming, under water, and diving swimming.
The tournament targets the age groups from 12 years and over, starting from young people to the public category, and a national championship will be organized for the youngest age groups (from 8 to 11 years – boys and girls) to involve local clubs and academies and enhance competition and local development.
For his part, Ahmed Khalfan Al -Jahouri, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Abu Dhabi Water Games Club, stressed that swimming with finances is a rich training and technical extension of classic swimming, pointing out that the integration of the two types in training programs enhances the physical and skill performance of athletes, and enhances the efficiency of swimmers.
