A deterrent procedures against the transgressors of the red signal … and penalties that reach “withdrawal of the license”

The General Command of Ajman Police confirmed that the red signal is one of the most dangerous traffic violations, due to the impressive incidents that threaten lives and property, noting that it will not tolerate the violators, and the deterrent legal measures will be taken against everyone who endangers his life and the lives of others.

The General Command of Ajman Police, represented by the Traffic and Patrols Department, launched the sub -traffic campaign “Beware of exceeding the red signal”, as part of its annual plan aimed at enhancing traffic safety and reducing accidents resulting from violating traffic and traffic laws, especially those related to bypassing the red signal.

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al -Kaabi, explained that the campaign comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of the Ajman Police to raise the level of awareness among drivers of the danger of overcoming red light signals, due to the resulting serious incidents that threaten lives and endanger others’ property.

He added, in press statements, that exceeding the red signal is one of the most dangerous traffic violations, and therefore awareness efforts are intensified in parallel with field control, stressing the importance of complete adherence to traffic rules to maintain the safety of everyone. He pointed out that the campaign aims to educate drivers through various media and direct communication in the field, as well as broadcasting awareness messages via smart screens and social media sites of the Ajman police.

Al -Kaabi stressed that the Ajman Police will not tolerate the violators, and the deterrent legal measures will take the right to everyone who endangers his life and the lives of others at risk, explaining that the penalty for exceeding the red sign of light vehicles is 1000 dirhams, 12 traffic points, and reservation of the vehicle for 30 days. As for heavy vehicles, the violation is 3000 dirhams, in addition to stopping the driver’s license for a year starting from the date of its withdrawal, while the violation of motorcycles is 1000 dirhams and 12 black traffic points, according to the Federal Traffic and Traffic Law.

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department called on all drivers to adhere to traffic lights, adhere to the specified speeds, and take care and caution while driving, wishing safety for all on the roads.
