The World Government Summit issues a report on ways to enhance the efficiency of health systems

Dubai, September 9 / WAM / The World Government Summit has issued a new strategic report entitled “The Transition to the Wise -Based Care -VBC”, which deals with ways to enhance the efficiency of health systems by shifting from traditional models based on services to models that focus on value and actual health outcomes.

This report comes in the context of the increasing challenges faced by the health sector globally, foremost of which is the high costs, acceleration of population aging and the increase in the rates of chronic diseases.
The report issued by the “Summit”, in cooperation with the company “BWC”, highlights the importance of developing patients’ results and their experiences at the heart of the health care process, as this is the cornerstone of any model that seeks to raise the quality of services and ensure their financial sustainability.

It also stresses the need to restore incentives between health care providers and insurance companies, in a way that reduces waste of resources and focuses on achieving an actual value added to the patient and society.
The report is based on the experiences of applying the value -based health care model in North America and Europe, as these experiments showed concrete results in improving efficiency and quality of care.

Although this model is still relatively recent in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the report indicates the possibility of its successful adaptation to match the needs and requirements of health systems in the region.
The report explains that health spending in many countries of the world is growing at a pace that exceeds the growth of GDP, which requires decision -makers to review the structure of existing health models.

The report proposes three main axes to reshape government competence in the health sector, which begins with harmonizing the financial and operational incentives to ensure the system sustainability, through the development of accurate and transparent measurement tools for health care results, and ending with determining clear strategic priorities to implement this model in the Gulf countries.
Reem Bajash, Deputy Director of Strategy, Content and Communication Affairs at the World of Government Summit, stressed that highlighting the wise health care model comes within the framework of a series of strategic studies implemented by the Foundation in partnership with international research institutions, with the aim of supporting governments in designing more efficient and fair future models.
She added that the report reflects the eagerness of the global government of governments to provide innovative solutions that keep pace with the accelerated global changes, and contribute to building integrated health systems based on the patient’s experience and achieving a balance between quality, cost and sustainability, noting that the report constitutes an important reference for decision makers in the countries of the region, where it provides a vision that can be implemented to transform the current health challenges to opportunities to update the health system, in a way that ensures the provision of submission More effective and fair care for individuals, and enhances the readiness of governments for the future of health care.
For his part, Ahmed Fiat, the partner in charge of health consultations at the Middle East, said that the Gulf Cooperation Council countries laid the basis for the transformation of value -based health care, starting with the “Ijada” program in Dubai, which aims to improve the quality of care in 30 priority fields by 2025, through the payment of payment for external health care in Abu Dhabi, to the adoption of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, innovative models to pay according to. The report deals with the developments and challenges facing these models with a focus on the basic factors that ensure their success, including; The availability of high -quality health data, and taking into account the trends of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the main partners in health systems.
The report provides a number of practical recommendations for leaders and decision makers, including; Developing uniform measuring indicators such as “CROMS and Proms”, achieving healthy data integration, and aligning the financing models to ensure the sustainability of systems.

It also calls for the adoption of an approach that focuses on the patient’s full journey, which enhances the fairness of the service, and ensures the provision of high quality care at a disciplined cost.
