Egypt qualifies for the semi-finals of the Sitting Volleyball World Cup in America and faces Kazakhstan
Our national Paralympic volleyball team qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup, which will be hosted by the American city of Indianapolis during the period from 9 to 18 October of this year.
Our team qualified after defeating its Dutch counterpart in three clean games, with results as follows: 22/25, 13/25, 15/25.
Our team will play its semi-final match against the Kazakhstan team at exactly one o’clock in the morning Cairo time.
The Brazilian team will play with the American team in the second semi-final match at the same time.
Our team’s journey in the tournament began with a victory over India, then Japan and Australia with one score, which is three clean games, Then the victory over Croatia by three games to one, before it stumbled against Brazil with a score of three games to one game, then it won over the Netherlands by three clean games and qualified for the semi-finals.
The delegation of our team in America is headed by Dr. Sameh Salem, Vice President of the Egyptian Paralympic Volleyball Federation.
The delegation includes 12 players, namely: Hisham Salah, the team captain, Ashraf Zaghloul,
Abdulnabi Hassan, Mohamed El-Hanawy, Hossam Masoud, El-Sayed Musa, Ahmed Khamis, Ahmed Fadl, Zakaria El-Sayed,
Mutawa Abu Al-Khair, Hamada Hassan, and Ahmed Zakry
The technical staff is led by Dr. Wagih Hamdy as technical director, and assisted by Mohamed Bashir, general coach, Mohamed Saad, coach. And Amin Abdel Moneim Administrative Director.
The Paralympic volleyball team is considered the best team in Egypt’s Olympic and Paralympic history, as it is the only team that was able to win three Paralympic medals in 2004, 2016 and 2024. It was also able to win three World Cup medals in 2006, 2010 and 2023, in addition to two Confederations World Cup medals in 2012 and 2023. 2016, and 8 African Nations Championships Consecutive.
