"Heaving" Champion of the break-the-kilometer race in the Al Shawahif Heritage Championship in Sharjah

Sharjah, October 19 / WAM / The boat “Hayaf”, captained by Mohammed Ahmed Suhail and Ahmed Khamis, was crowned champion of the break-the-kilo race in the Emirates Traditional Shawahif Championship – Sharjah Tour, after covering the distance in a time of 37 minutes and 19 seconds, in a race characterized by excitement and competition until the last metres.
The boat “Al-Muhashas 33”, led by Arif Al-Zaffin and Yousef Al-Sabouri, came in second place, while the boat “Al-Muhashas 20”, led by Majid Al-Khalaf and Ismail Al-Marzouqi, came in third, at the conclusion of a race that witnessed wide participation from elite teams and sailors from the emirates of the country.
The race was organized by the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, under the supervision of the Emirates Marine Sports Federation, and with the support and sponsorship of MAG Holding Company, which confirmed through its partnership its keenness to support Emirati heritage sports and preserve the country’s authentic maritime heritage, in a way that embodies the values of national identity and enhances the UAE’s presence in the fields of heritage marine sports.
The organizing committee confirmed that the kilometer race is one of the most prominent stations of the tournament, as it gives competitors an opportunity to test the capabilities of the boats before the main races, and contributes to raising the level of competition and preparing for the upcoming rounds that sea lovers await with great passion.
