Dr. Tamer Al-Husseini, Vice President of the Egyptian Medicine Authority, on behalf of Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Authority, held an expanded meeting with representatives of third-party manufacturing companies and representatives of warehouses, in the presence of Dr. Ali Auf, Head of the Pharmaceuticals Division of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and Dr. Yousry Nawar, Member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Pharmaceutical Industry, to discuss the developments of the drug traceability project and discuss implementation mechanisms and the related technical and regulatory aspects. The meeting witnessed a discussion of the challenges that may face the implementation of the project among manufacturing and warehouse companies, and a review of practical proposals to facilitate implementation procedures, ensuring the achievement of the system’s objectives in securing the circulation of medicine within the Egyptian market and ensuring its safety and quality.

Dr. Tamer Al-Husseini stressed that the Egyptian Medicines Authority is keen to support all Parties of the pharmaceutical system, listen to their comments, and provide appropriate solutions for the success of the drug traceability project, pointing out that the project represents a qualitative shift in the organization of the Egyptian drug market, enhances transparency and operational efficiency, and contributes to the safe arrival of medicine to the Egyptian patient.

Representatives of the pharmaceutical manufacturing and warehouse sector also praised the effective role played by the Egyptian Drug Authority in supporting and developing the system. Drug tracking, stressing that the Authority adopts a participatory approach based on open dialogue with all concerned parties, which contributes to facilitating application procedures and achieving the highest levels of discipline in the drug market.

The attendees pointed out that the continuous efforts made by the Authority in providing technical support and regulatory clarifications enhance the readiness of the industrial sector to fully comply with the requirements of the project, and reflect the state’s keenness to build a system An integrated digital pharmaceutical industry that achieves the public interest and protects the health of citizens.

The meeting concluded by emphasizing the continuation of joint coordination between the authority, industry representatives and stores, to ensure the effective implementation of the drug tracking project, and achieving its goals in controlling the drug circulation system and enhancing confidence in the Egyptian pharmaceutical product.
