European stocks close in positive territory led by defense stocks

European stocks initially closed in positive territory on Monday, with defense stocks in the region leading gains after a volatile few trading days.
The Stoxx 600 index rose The European Union rose by about 1% immediately after the closing bell, after it rose again to the green zone after closing the Friday session with a decline of 0.95% as the US banking sector weighed on European sentiment.
Most indices ended the session in positive territory, with the German DAX index, which rose by 0.5%, and the French CAC 40 index, which recorded 0.4%. UP.
European defense stocks were among the strong movers, with Thyssenkrupp rising nearly 7.9% by the end of the session following the IPO and IPO of German warship manufacturer TKMS.
