400 male and female competitors from 20 countries participate in the Finswimming World Cup Championship in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 25 October / WAM / The organizing committee of the World Cup Fin Swimming Championship, which will be held from October 31 to November 2 at the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club in the club’s Olympic pool, announced the participation of 400 male and female swimmers in the competitions, representing 20 countries.

The organizing committee revealed the participation of international swimmer Mauritius Fernandez from Colombia, residing in the Emirates, alongside the elite champions, in the largest edition of the tournament held within the agenda of the International Underwater Sports Federation.

The Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club announced its readiness to launch the global event, explaining that the National Finswimming Championship for Juniors will be organized on the sidelines of the World Championship to expand the base of practitioners and provide competitive opportunities for all ages to interact and learn from the champions participating in the event.

The tournament witnesses the coronation of the winners in the general stages for adults (over 18 years) and youth and juniors (from 12 to 17 years), in addition to honoring the first three place holders for the first time in the history of the World Cup competitions in the age groups 12-13 years, 14-15 years and 16-17 years, within the framework of the organizing committee’s keenness to support the sport of fin swimming in the country and to develop and spread it on a wider scale, and to encourage Swimmers perform at their best in this prestigious global event.
