Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club, explained the reasons for his retraction from the decision not to run for the presidency of the club, indicating that his health and psychological conditions were pushing him away, before he received great support from the members and fans of the Red Castle to continue.
Al-Khatib said during a symposium for his list at the club’s headquarters in Al-Jazira that he underwent treatment outside Egypt in April 2023, and doctors advised him to reduce The pressures were completely due to the nature of his work within Al-Ahly.

He added that as the end of the council’s term approached, he announced that he would not run again, but the Board of Directors rejected his departure and confirmed his adherence to him.
