"Transportation": Commencing trial operation of the monorail east of the Nile and launching experiments "Express train"
The Ministry of Transport announced the start of the final stages of trial operation of the East Nile Monorail. In preparation for receiving passengers in the first week of January next year, coinciding with the launch of the sixth session of the Smart Transport, Logistics and Industry Exhibition and Conference 2025 TRANS MEA during the period from 9 to 11 November 2025, which will be held under the patronage of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
The Ministry explained – in a statement today, Thursday – that this period will be allocated to implementing more diverse and intensive training. For the various operating categories of the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation, in cooperation with the French company Alstom to manage and operate the monorail under the supervision of Alstom, in order to ensure the highest levels of service provided to the passenger public.
The statement also confirmed that the trial operation of the high-speed electric train for the high-speed electric train network will begin in its first phase in the October sector, coinciding with the start of the sixth session of the exhibition on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
