Latifa Bint Mohammed meets with the President of the Fund for the Development of Culture and Arts in Uzbekistan


DUBAI, 15 November / WAM / Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Her Excellency Gayani Omirova, President of the Culture and Arts Development Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums “ICOM Dubai 2025”, which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, and hosted by Dubai for the first time. During the meeting, ways of deepening cooperation in the fields of cultural and creative industries, the vital engine of economic growth, innovation and cultural expression, were reviewed.
Discussions focused on the importance of promoting the creative economy as a shared national priority, as both countries seek to expand opportunities for creative talent, entrepreneurs and emerging industries.
Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum pointed out that the cultural ties between the UAE and the Republic of Uzbekistan are rooted in a history of exchange along the Silk Road, which brought together peoples, ideas, crafts and artistic traditions across continents.
She stressed that this continuing legacy continues to inspire cooperation between the two countries, as they seek to build modern systems based on knowledge, creativity and openness.
Her Highness stressed the importance of empowering talent and creating supportive environments that give creative youth the opportunity to excel and flourish, and stressed the role of the two countries in supporting new generations of artists, designers and cultural practitioners, and creating opportunities that raise the voices of creativity at the regional and international levels.
Her Highness pointed out that investing in the creative economy is not only an economic necessity, but also a cultural necessity to preserve identity, enhance innovation, and shape a future in which culture and creativity are bridges that connect societies.
The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and Mona Faisal Al Gurg, Executive Director of the Museums and Heritage Sector at Dubai Culture.
