Egypt participates in the first meeting of the Palestine Donors Group in Brussels

Ambassador Mahmoud Omar, Assistant Secretary of State and Director of the Palestine Administration, participated in the first meeting of the Palestine Donors Group, representing the Arab Republic of Egypt, which was held by the European Union in Brussels to support the Palestinian Authority.

The meeting witnessed a broad affirmation from the participating countries to welcome the US President’s peace plan as a supportive framework for stability, and a paving the way for a serious political path to settle the Palestinian issue on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions. 

Also, The countries expressed their deep appreciation for the Egyptian efforts that led to reaching the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza, appreciating the vital role played by Egypt in coordinating regional and international efforts to contain the crisis.

The participating countries also stressed the importance of forming an international stabilization force in Gaza to carry out its peacekeeping responsibilities and tasks in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803, expressing their aspiration for effective participation in the “conference.” Cairo Early Recovery, Reconstruction and Development of Gaza” It is scheduled to be held in Egypt, as it is a pivotal international platform to mobilize support and coordinate efforts to ensure the rapid reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people.
