Under the patronage of Hazza bin Zayed, Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed honors the winners of the 4th session of the award "Generation treasure"

Al Ain, 24 November, WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain region, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan honored the winners of the fourth session of the Generation Treasure Award, during a ceremony organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, at Al Muwaiji Palace in the Al Ain region, as part of the activities of the Al Ain Book Festival 2025, which continues until November 30 of this year.

The honoring ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Saud Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, and His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Taniji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.

His Excellency honored the winners of the award, in the arts branch, the Egyptian artist Najat Farouk Suleiman for her painting “My Tears Walked from My Eyes,” the Omani poet Ali Al-Harithi for his poem “Echo of Light” in the Poetic Competition branch, the Kuwaiti poet Hamid Zaid Al-Azmi for his poetry collections and “I Remain a Mountain” in the “Poetry Publications” branch, and the novelist and researcher Ali Abu Al-Rish for his book “Zayed’s Poetic Worlds whose Ceiling is Range” in the “Poetry Publications” branch. “Studies and research”.

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed crowned the Emirati poet Mohammed Rashid Al Shamsi with the “Creative Personality” Award, in honor of the richness of his poetic production and his distinguished contributions since the 1970s of the last century, while the award was withheld from the translation branch for this session.

His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said: “The Generation Treasure Award embodies Abu Dhabi’s commitment to supporting and enhancing the presence of the Arabic language, and honoring creators who contribute to enriching it in various literary fields. Year after year, the award has proven its status as a leading platform for poets, writers and researchers whose works focus on understanding Nabati poetry, which contributes to preserving this precious cultural heritage for generations, especially since the award derives its name from one of the poems of the late founding father. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.

He added that honoring creators contributes to enhancing cultural awareness and encourages emerging generations to explore their historical roots. While we congratulate the winners, we stress the importance of their efforts in shedding light on the literary arts and establishing bridges between our rich heritage and contemporary artistic expression.

The winners received certificates of appreciation, a gold medal bearing the award’s logo, in addition to a financial prize worth 200,000 dirhams for each winner, while the winner of the Creative Personality title received a financial prize worth 500,000 dirhams.

In his speech during the opening, His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, extended his sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler’s representative in the Al Ain region, for his generous patronage of the award, and said: “The Generation Treasure Award came to be an incentive for Arab minds to complete building on the great legacy left by their ancestors in one of the most prominent Arabic poetic arts, Nabati poetry, and to encourage them to study it, and to enrich it with new artistic and research contributions.” And innovative.”

He added: “The award has become a platform visited by poets, writers, researchers, and creators, and a qualitative addition to the beacons whose light shines from the capital, Abu Dhabi, to illuminate the world.”

His Excellency congratulated the winners of the award, and said that each winner’s achievement deserved to bear the name “Treasure of the Generation,” pointing to the high level of works competing for the award’s branches this year, which enhances its ability to establish the presence of the Arabic language as a language of arts, creativity, and civilization.

His Excellency thanked all the participants and the award’s higher committee for their efforts that strengthened the award’s standing.

In its fourth session, the Kenz Al-Jeel Award witnessed wide competition, which was evident in the volume of participating works, which exceeded 830 works, from 35 countries, including 19 Arab countries, an increase of 38% over the number of works participating in the previous session, which reflects the position of the award and its leadership on the map of specialized literary awards, which are concerned with Nabataean poetry and heritage at the Arab and international levels, and in a clear confirmation of the UAE’s pivotal role in supporting Arab culture, enhancing the presence of the Arabic language, and highlighting Its cultural and cognitive status; The award’s Supreme Committee approved the names of the winners, based on clear and transparent governance standards, and based on the level of competing works, their compatibility, and consistency with the award’s objectives.

The award is one of the pioneering initiatives of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, through which it seeks to appreciate Nabataean poetic works, and heritage studies and research that deal with the heritage of Nabataean poetry and its authentic values, to become a beacon urging new generations to take care of the relics of this heritage, and to trace its aesthetics, in a new language and with the tools of the era. It also reflects its sustainable strategy, by strengthening the presence of the Arabic language, consolidating its cultural message, and celebrating creators in its various fields, especially poetry. Nabati, as it represents an exceptional cultural state in the region, and is part of the UAE’s heritage and identity.

In continuation of the award’s pioneering role, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced the opening of nominations for the fifth session of the “Jeel’s Treasure” Award.
