" Rotate" Promotes a culture of sustainability among 8,200 male and female students

Abu Dhabi, December 4, 2017 – Tadweer Group successfully concluded its second session of its awareness campaign coinciding with school celebrations of the 54th Union Day, across all emirates of the country, which aims to promote a culture of sustainability among the youth, and prepare them to lead the environmental future, by educating more than 8,200 male and female students and enriching their awareness of the importance of extracting value from waste.

Tadweer Group teams, consisting of more than 190 employees, carried out field visits to 13 schools across the country, during which they presented the students with more than 90 interactive activities, including creative workshops and group artistic projects, lasting for more than 170 hours.

These activities aimed to inspire young people with recycling practices, enhance their awareness of their duty to protect the environment, correct traditional concepts about waste, and encourage them to adopt innovative thinking in transforming challenges into opportunities to extract valuable resources from waste.

This year, the campaign expanded its scope quantitatively and qualitatively, by increasing the number of participating schools over the previous year, adding new activities, and designing specialized events in coordination with schools for people of determination.

The Tadweer Group’s awareness team continues its efforts to enhance communication and interaction with various groups of society throughout the year, through participation in festivals, organizing workshops, and visits to schools and universities, and exploiting the opportunities for participation available to spread messages of sustainability and raise environmental awareness in society.

Abdul Wahed Jumaa Farish, Executive Director of Communication and Awareness at Tadweer Group, explained that the group is proud of its pioneering role in promoting positive environmental behaviours, pointing to its efforts in educating students within the school curricula and the education system, by introducing the best practices for waste management, sorting, recycling and use, in a way that ensures value extraction and resource recovery in a sustainable manner.
