المملكة: 3 activities and 70 seedlings to enhance environmental awareness in girls’ schools in Jeddah
The branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region implemented a package of simultaneous awareness-raising activities in model schools in Jeddah, aimed at instilling the correct environmental concepts in female students through interactive programs and practical applications, with the aim of promoting sustainable behavior and protecting natural resources in line with the objectives of «Green Saudi Arabia”.
The women’s section was launched Environmental awareness Three specific initiatives included all levels of education, as the “Today’s Awareness Tomorrow’s Environment” program was allocated to primary school students to establish an early knowledge base about the environment.
The Ministry focused its efforts on middle and high school students through the “Recycling, Tomorrow’s Sustainability” event, to raise awareness of the importance of the circular economy and waste reduction as a strategic choice for the future.
Practical application with interactive methods
The programs went beyond the theoretical aspect to include practical applications, as the female students were trained On the correct methods of agriculture And tree care, with a detailed explanation of the role of vegetation in environmental balance and reducing pollution.
The events adopted the “learning by playing” method through interactive activities and innovative educational games, which succeeded in simplifying complex environmental concepts and consolidating them in the minds of the students in an interesting way, far from traditional indoctrination.
The Ministry culminated these awareness efforts by distributing more than 70 agricultural seedlings to the attendees at the conclusion of the events, to encourage the educational community to actively participate in increasing The green patch and transforming information into tangible practices.
The branch’s Environment Department confirmed that these field movements come as a translation of the directives of the executive leadership, and in an effort to achieve integration with educational institutions to ensure the sustainability of environmental work in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
