In numbers… Shabab Al-Ahly outperforms Sharjah in the “historic” 2025 series

Shabab Al-Ahly and Sharjah bid farewell to the year 2025 with the longest series of confrontations between two local teams in one season, when they meet for the eighth time this year in the Super Cup final, which will be hosted by Al Maktoum Stadium, tomorrow, at 7:45 pm, in a confrontation bearing the character of the great conclusion of an exceptional year that brought together the “Dubai Knights” and “The King” in an unprecedented way, and made the Super Cup the culmination of a long competition that extended throughout the season.

The Super Summit will be the eighth confrontation between the two teams, in local and continental competitions, without Sharjah succeeding in achieving any victory during the previous seven confrontations, as Shabab Al-Ahly won three matches, and tied in four matches.

This match is the fourth confrontation between Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Sharjah in the history of the Super Cup, becoming the most frequent in the tournament, as Al-Sharjah succeeded in clinching the 2019 edition title on penalties after a goalless draw, while Shabab Al-Ahly won the 2021 (1-0) and 2023 editions with a big score (6-2).

At the level of all competitions in the professional era, the two teams combined for 52 matches, with Shabab Al-Ahly winning 26 matches, compared to seven victories for Sharjah, and the two teams tied in 19 matches, and Shabab Al-Ahly scored 88 goals, compared to 58 goals for Sharjah.

Shabab Al-Ahly enters the “Super Final” and is the owner of the largest legacy in the history of the tournament, as it is considered the most participating with 10 previous times, and the most crowned with seven titles, which makes it have a historic opportunity to enhance its record and ascend to the podium for the eighth and third time in a row.

On the other hand, Sharjah participated in the Super Cup on four previous occasions throughout its history in the professional era, winning the title twice, and losing the title twice to Shabab Al-Ahly.

Outperforming the market value

The total market value of the two final sides is 82.55 million euros, according to the latest statistics of the Transfer Market website, and Shabab Al-Ahly excels with a market value of 44.30 million euros, compared to 38.25 million euros for Sharjah.

Serbian Nemanja Maksimovic (Shabab Al-Ahly) and Luan Pereira (Sharjah) are worth 4.20 million euros each, while Elian Mateo Irala (Shabab Al-Ahly), Caio Lucas and Firas Balarabi (Sharjah) come with a value of four million euros.

Al Maktoum Stadium holds the record for hosting the UAE Super Cup, as the confrontation between Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Sharjah is the eighth edition held on its home soil in the professional era, and it also hosted all of the two teams’ previous confrontations in the Super Cup.

The past seven editions at this stadium witnessed the scoring of 19 goals, representing 47% of the total goals in the history of the tournament, and Shabab Al-Ahly tops the list of most goals scored on the stadium with 10 goals, followed by Sharjah and the Emirates with three goals each.

Shabab Al-Ahly played five finals at this stadium, during which they were crowned four times, while Al-Sharjah played all four finals at the same stadium, winning twice and finishing as runner-up twice.
