Launching an executive program in behavioral sciences in cooperation with New York University Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 16 JANUARY / WAM / The Behavioral Sciences Group in the Office of Development Affairs in the Presidential Office announced the launch of an executive program in behavioral sciences, in cooperation with the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design at New York University Abu Dhabi, which will begin its implementation in February 2026 over a period of four days, with the participation of a number of government sector leaders from various fields.

The program aims to deepen expertise and enhance competencies in the field of behavioral sciences in the UAE, and its launch represents the first phase of a broader strategic partnership between the Behavioral Sciences Group and New York University Abu Dhabi. The program combines academic expertise and applied practices under the supervision of an elite group of international and local academic experts, relying on scientific evidence, global experiences, and regional studies, with the aim of training participants to harness behavioral science applications in institutional policies and government services.

The program also includes theoretical aspects and measurement and evaluation tools in the field of behavioral sciences, in addition to various exercises to build capabilities and integrate them into policies and practices on the one hand, and enhance the skills of understanding and understanding emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and the role of subtle cultural differences and their impact on humans on the other hand, with the aim of dealing with them optimally from a behavioral perspective.

In this context, Rasha Al-Attar, Director of the Behavioral Sciences Group in the Office of Development Affairs at the Presidential Office, said that this program is part of the UAE’s long-term investment towards integrating behavioral sciences to support the government policy-making process, by providing a new generation of leaders and specialists with the necessary tools to design policies based on evidence and an understanding of human behavior, and that establishes a scientific basis for achieving the desired societal impact over the coming decades in a sustainable manner.

Professor Nikos Nikivorakis, Director of the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design at New York University Abu Dhabi, expressed his pride in developing the partnership with the Behavioral Sciences Group as a strategic partner with extensive experience in applying behavioral sciences through public policy development, stressing the commitment together to support current and future leaders and specialists in the field of behavioral sciences throughout the UAE, through high-quality practical training on how behavioral sciences contribute to enhancing the policy-making process. He pointed out that the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design at New York University Abu Dhabi is considered A leading international center in behavioral science research and educational curricula.

It is worth noting that the program also includes a series of lectures, “Horizons of Behavioral Sciences,” presented by an elite group of international and local experts in the field of behavioral sciences, who will share the latest research and global visions and their impact on government policies.
