Zayed National Museum launches a program "From the museum to the community" In various emirates of the country

Abu Dhabi, April 14 / WAM / Zayed National Museum, the national museum of the United Arab Emirates, is expanding its presence outside its walls through a community outreach program entitled “From the Museum to the Community: A Live Cultural Dialogue between the Emirates of the State,” in an initiative that transports galleries, collectibles, and narratives to various parts of the country, and enhances direct interaction with communities.

Through a series of dialogue sessions, the program connects the audience with a group of experts in the cultural field, highlighting the human experiences, community knowledge and discoveries that contributed to shaping national history and enriching the galleries and museum collections.

The program also presents archaeological discoveries for public debate as part of the national narrative, for the public to explore alongside human experiences, scientific research, and valuable interpretations to form together a group of interconnected elements that reflect the history of the UAE, its natural terrain, and its cultural depth.

Nasra Al-Buainain, Director of the Education and Community Engagement Department at the Zayed National Museum, said that the “From the Museum to the Community” program represents an extension of everything we believe in at the Zayed National Museum. The museum’s narrative is not complete without the people, pointing out that the goal is not indoctrination, but rather to raise questions, call for dialogue, and bring together archaeological discoveries, human experiences, and cultural knowledge within one context.

She added that every community visited by the program carries a part of this national narrative, and this program confirms the commitment to ensuring that every individual sees himself within that narrative, stressing that community interaction is not an option, but rather the foundation from which all of the museum’s work begins.

The program was launched in the Emirate of Dubai through its first sessions at Al Shindagha Museum, the largest heritage museum in the UAE, affiliated with the Culture and Arts Authority, on April 9, where it brought together the audience to explore the country’s maritime heritage and the traditions of coastal communities, through dialogue sessions and traditional performances.

The program returns to Dubai on April 19 at Alserkal Avenue, through sessions that address the role of art, symbols and material culture in shaping identity in the region, in addition to interactive workshops targeting different age groups.

After that, the program will move to the Council of Honorable Trustees in Ajman on April 29, then to the Al Ain Museum on May 18, and the House of Wisdom in Sharjah on May 21, and will continue its journey in the rest of the emirates of the country until June 2026.
