Dubai Municipality and the Academy of the New Economy launched a program "Project management experts" To license 500 citizens to manage housing construction projects

Dubai, September 22/ WAM/ The Dubai Municipality, and the new Economy Academy announced the launch of the “Project Management Experts” program, to license 500 citizens and citizenship to manage housing construction projects, as part of the national campaign “the Emirates as the capital of entrepreneurs in the world”, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God bless him”, with the aim of establishing the UAE’s position as a global destination for entrepreneurship.
This came during a press conference held in Dubai today to announce the details of the program, in the presence of His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and Dr. Laila Faridoun, CEO of the new economy of the economy.
The national campaign is supervised by the “Emirates capital of entrepreneurs in the world”, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism in cooperation with the media office of the UAE government, with the participation of the Emirates Business Council and more than 50 governmental and private agencies, incubators, business parks and academic institutions.
The program aims to enable its affiliates to supervise housing construction projects in all its stages, from planning to completion, and providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to support the next owners to build their homes.
The training program, which aims to license 500 citizens and citizenship to manage housing construction projects with high efficiency, covers various stages of project management, from planning to completion.
The program works to provide the participants with practical skills and technical knowledge needed to oversee the construction of housing and ensure the workflow and high quality of work.
The graduates provide an opportunity to obtain an accredited certificate from the new Economy Academy, in addition to a professional license from Dubai Municipality that qualifies them to formally manage projects, whether by working in specialized companies or establishing their private companies, which opens for them new professional prospects.
His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality said: “The project management experts program is one of the integrated programs aimed at training and licensing 500 participants from citizens with experiences in construction work, empowering them and adopting them as directors of building projects to build citizens. From the beginning until the completion. We look forward to enhancing the effective role of Emirati minds and competencies in developing infrastructure and community service, by providing an opportunity for them to learn best housing project management practices, and to provide comprehensive qualification and training to develop their skills and practical experiences, in order to enhance their contribution to the housing market, and build a sustainable and integrated national economy.
His Excellency added: “We are committed to the Dubai Municipality to support the housing initiatives and projects in a way that integrates with our continuous efforts to create integrated housing solutions, which reduces the burdens and costs for citizens, enhances the welfare of life and the quality of life and happiness and achieves more family and societal stability, in line with the goals and targets of Dubai Social Agency 33, to develop an ideal city for living that enjoy With comprehensive and suitable housing services for all groups of society.
For her part, Dr. Laila Faridon, CEO of the New Economy Academy, confirmed that the project management experts program is an investment in human capital, as it is not limited to developing individual skills for the participants, but rather provides them with an opportunity to create sustainable income sources through obtaining an approved license to manage project.
She added: “The program aims for the participants to learn to manage an integrated project from A to Z, and to become an approved reference for the owners of housing, and that they can communicate effectively with the relevant authorities, including owners, contractors, consultants and municipality.”
The program that can be affiliated with the link aims to qualify Emirati youth to manage housing building projects according to the municipal requirements, and to enable them to provide neutral technical consultations that reduce disputes between the owner and the consultant, in addition to organizing the guiding process to build citizens’ housing by qualifying national cadres capable of reducing errors resulting from individual decisions, and creating a sustainable source of income for participants by granting them a license Approved project management.
The program, whose first sessions start from 21 to 27 October, include 5 main training units represented in: Introduction to Project Management, Contracts Management, Plans and costs, practical and theoretical training in construction sites, team management and conflict solution, in addition to the final evaluation that measures the ability of participants to manage realistic projects.
Training covers multiple topics, including: the ethics and role of the project manager, laws and regulations for housing and municipality, financing procedures, contracts and basic terms, evaluation of contractors and consultants, in addition to safety systems in sites and mechanisms for reading executive plans and receiving business.
The program also gives the participants the ability to manage risk and settle disputes, while defining the legal procedures related to the courts. The program is supervised by a group of experts specializing in the field of construction and project management, who will provide their accumulated experiences to qualify the participants to exercise their role as accredited project managers.
