Health: More than 7 million students were examined as part of the President’s initiative for early detection of “anaemia, obesity, and dwarfism.”

The Ministry of Health and Population announced that 7 million 180 thousand and 832 students have been examined, as part of the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for early detection of diseases (anemia, obesity and stunting) among primary school students, since the launch of the initiative at the beginning of the current academic year on October 5, 2025 until now.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry, explained that the initiative aims to protect the health of Egyptian and non-Egyptian students in about 29 thousand students. A public and private school in all governorates, by conducting a medical survey that includes measuring weight, height, and the percentage of hemoglobin in the blood, in full coordination with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.
Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, President of the General Authority for Health Insurance, confirmed that the discovered cases are immediately transferred to health insurance clinics to complete the examinations and dispense treatment for free, with each student being given a “follow-up card” It includes his personal data to ensure periodic follow-up in all governorates.
For his part, Dr. Tamer Samir, coordinator of the presidential initiative, indicated the participation of 2,000 medical teams trained to the highest standards of examination and infection control, with the implementation of the survey throughout the academic year to avoid crowding, and to follow all precautionary measures. Health education teams also educate students about proper health behaviors, and citizens’ inquiries are received via the two hotlines “105” And «106».
