The Medicines Authority signs a memorandum of understanding with the Angolan Medicines Regulatory Agency

The Egyptian Medicines Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the Angola Medicines Regulatory Agency (ARMED), on the sidelines of the meetings of the joint Egyptian-Angolan committee held in Luanda during the period from 10 to 12 December 2025.

The signing of the memorandum comes to embody the growing position of the Authority as one of the most important main regulatory authorities on the African continent, and reflects the growing confidence of sister countries in Egyptian technical expertise and its ability to lead systems development initiatives. The memorandum was signed by Ambassador Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, on behalf of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, on behalf of the Egyptian Medicine Authority, while the Angolan Minister of Foreign Relations, Mr. Tete Antonio (TetéAntónio), signed the memorandum, in a step that reflects the strength of relations between the two countries, and the keenness of both sides to advance the frameworks of pharmaceutical and health cooperation.

The memorandum is considered a milestone. It is pivotal within the strategic efforts made by the Egyptian Medicine Authority to enhance the access of Egyptian medicine to African markets, and to open broader horizons for industrial and regulatory cooperation, which contributes to supporting trade exchange, raising the efficiency of pharmaceutical supply chains, and improving health services provided to citizens on the continent.

It represents an extension of the Egyptian Medicine Authority’s approach to expanding its regional and international partnerships, and enhancing integration between the state and the private sector, in a way that supports Egypt’s 2030 vision for sustainable development, and enhances Egypt’s position as a major supporter of the development of the pharmaceutical sector. African.
