13 players inaugurate the team’s preparations for the Iran match in the World Cup qualifiers

Today, the national football team begins an internal gathering in the Jabal Ali area in Dubai, in preparation for playing its matches against the teams of Iran and North Korea, scheduled for 20 and 25, respectively, within the seventh and eighth rounds for the first group in the third round of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The technical staff of the national team had chosen a new list that included 27 players, among them four will appear in the white shirt for the first time, namely: Caio Lucas and the color of “Sharjah”, Alauddin Zuhair “Al -Wahda”, and Gonas Santos “Al Wasl”.

It is expected that the beginning of the internal camp for the national team will be from today with only 13 players, they are: Khaled Issa, Ali Khasif, Muhammad Al -Attas, Lucas Pimanta, Kwami Kowido, Khalifa Al Hammadi, Alauddin Zuhair, Zayed Sultan, Yahya Nader, Maknzi Hunt, Abdullah Ramadan, Issam Fayez and Bruno Olivira, due to the absence of the players of Al -Ahly, Al -Wasl, Al -Wasl, Al -Wasl, Al -Nasr and Al -Nasr. Their clubs to participate in the Asian and Gulf club championships, and they will join the national team camp after the end of their participation with their clubs in these benefits.

The upcoming gathering in Jebel Ali will be the first for the national team since last December, after the end of its last participation in the 26th Gulf Cup that was held in Kuwait, knowing that the team bid farewell to the Gulf championship from the group stage, and during this participation it appeared with an unconvincing technical performance.

It is expected that the technical staff, led by Portuguese coach Paulo Pinto, will focus during the upcoming internal camp – despite its short period – on the technical and tactical aspects, the harmony of the players and the choice of the appropriate combination for the two games, especially with the presence of new players participating for the first time with the team.

The technical staff will be satisfied with the program that coach Pinto set, with daily training only, without going to any friendly experience to test his players, given the short preparation period and the links of the previous players to participate with their teams in local, Asian and Gulf competitions.

The coach of the national team realizes that he is required to correct the modest image in which the team appeared during his recent participation in “Khaleeji 26”.

According to the Football Association, the national team match against its Iranian counterpart will be held at the Azadi stadium in Tehran, while the white match against North Korea will play at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.

The national team is third in the first group ranking with 10 points behind the leaders of the leaders with 16 points, and the second -placed Uzbeki with 13 points.
