A new country previously: The Pharmaceutical Authority is the first approved authority to produce reference materials in Egypt
The Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority obtained a new international accreditation added to its achievement record in the field of international quality assertion and recognition, as the General Administration of Reference Laborators of the Authority was approved by the National Accreditation Council & quot; Igak & quot; as the first Egyptian authority producing reference materials with a certificate (Certified Reference Mateial), according to the international standard ISO 17034: 2016, concerned with ensuring the efficiency of the bodies producing these vital materials. During it, conducting accurate technical and administrative reviews that included the evaluation of the work system within the reference laboratories, and the verification of the efficiency of production, analysis and quality guarantee, according to the requirements of the international standard ISO 17034: 2016.
This achievement comes as an affirmation of the authority’s commitment to applying the highest quality standards in technical and supervisory performance, through the production of accurate reference materials used in control analyzes Ensuring the quality, safety and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. In this context, Dr. Ali Al -Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, stressed that this international accreditation is a natural extension of the development process pursued by the authority, and today we add to this balance a new success through our accreditation as a producing authority for reference materials, which reflects the extent of the authority’s readiness to take over regional and international reference roles in the areas of analysis, control and quality assertion. Within a strategic national project aimed at localizing the production of reference materials in local currency, in order to support the national pharmaceutical industry and reduce dependence on external import. These materials also represent an accurate reference tool that is used in preparing monoravage for the Egyptian drug constitution, and is enhanced by the efficiency of development, registration and analysis in the pharmaceutical sector. This international accreditation comes as an affirmation of the Egyptian Drug Authority’s keenness to align its procedures with the latest international specifications, in order to enhance its position as an internationally recognized control destination, and contributes to enabling the Egyptian pharmaceutical product to expand in the regional and international markets, especially in the field of pharmaceutical preparations, medical supplies and cosmetics.
